hat Do I Control. Maybe should ask what do I try to control? Or where does control get me?
The question is like prying open a container of thoughts that cause a chain reaction of ultimate devastation. For me control triggers an overwhelming push pull of anger, frustration, disappointment, lack of organization. I begin to pile up expectations, long roads of where my thoughts are expected to end up. I forget about the now at hand. I’m listening to where my mind is going next rather than to the creativeness that may be at hand. I don’t listen to my present engagement. Those in my spiral notice I’m disengaged. Then they tense and don’t feel comfortable moving into resolve. As a skydiver it reminds me of being out of control and spiraling to the ground to sure disaster. I experienced what we call a bag lock or total malfunction. For 30 seconds I was only thinking about my landing rather than recovering from the now. Then my spirit slowed my mind, brought me to the present and I opened my reserve.
The internet, twitter or impulsively hitting the send button on email without thinking.
The only reason I recognize all this in myself is I’ve crashed in a huge way. As a human I was forced to stand back and look at it like Scrooge touring his past.
I first recognized there may be something I didn’t know about myself. I opened my mind to listening to what others said even if I disagreed. It hurt, it burned but it is where I learned.
I spend time in high altitude hikes and without synchronizing my mind, breathing and cadence I collapse. I use to look at the top of the mountain. Now I make every effort to embrace what is around me.

John, Love your input and stream of conscious writing. I think a lot of us get to a point where shifting how we respond/react is a necessity! I always tell my girls that I teach what I teach for a reason!
